Julie Lin, Art on Purpose's 2008-2009 Resident Community Artist, has held a series of workshops at Adelante Familia, Advocates for Survivors of Torture and Trauma (ASTT), Baltimore City Community College's Refugee Assistance Program (RAP), and International Rescue Committee (IRC). The art created by Lin and those she has worked with go on exhibition at The Library Project.

Art

Collage, drawings, and shared recipes and anecdotes about home, family, and favorite recipes by clients of Adelante Familia, ASTT, RAP, and IRC. Also, four mixed media works by 2008-2009 Resident Community Artist Julie Lin.

Purpose

To explore issues of identity and assimilation among recent immigrants to this country, honoring the challenges and triumphs they have experienced, and giving voice to their stories.
